SYMMETRY & ME!
In Geometry, we reviewed what "symmetry" and "lines of symmetry" meant. Then we found several lines of symmetry on various shapes. However, we took it just a bit farther by taking our own pictures, cutting them along the line of symmetry, and drawing the missing part. Below are our masterpieces. :)

New Species of Animal
In Science, we wrapped up our Life Science unit by creating a "new species." Each student chose either a cave or mountain habitat. Then, he/she decided on the best traits for survival that his/her animal should have. Below are a few examples of their work:

ADVERBS! ADVERBS! ADVERBS!
In Language, we have been identifying adverbs and sorting them as to which question they answer: how? when? where? or why they DO something?

On Feb. 11, Lynne Mansfield came in and talked to us about what it is like to be a dog groomer/boarder. She showed us some of her tools she uses to groom dogs and answered LOTS of questions that the third graders had. Thank you very much, Lynne, for sharing your experience with us!

Math Blitz!
Are you ready? Do you know your Multiplication Facts? Well, we have begun our annual "Math Blitz!" The last half hour of the day is dedicated to memorizing those Math facts. "How?" you may ask. Why, by playing games and making learning fun, of course! :)
