HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

On Friday, we had our annual Halloween Parade and Party. We ate some treats and played "Wrap the Mummy," "Toss the Eyeballs," and Bingo. We want to thank everyone who brought in treats and Mrs. Parker, Mrs. Bland, Mrs. Wobler, and Mrs. Wenzlick for planning the party and helping out. We had A LOT of fun!

Welcome "The Kids on the Block"

Last Tuesday, "The Kids on the Block" came to our school and performed a puppet show for just the third grade. Each puppet was based on a REAL kid with a real disability. Their message was that even though people can be different on the outside, we are all the same on the inside.

WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL!!!

We are off to a great start this year! This year, the third graders will have the opportunity to work more on laptops. 3A and 3B will be sharing a cart of laptops which will provide more time to use technology in the classroom. One of the programs that we have started using is "Math Facts in a Flash." Below are pictures of 3A practicing those very important Math facts.

Our Fossil Hunting Field Trip!

On May 9, we went on our fossil hunting field trip at LaFarge. It was a BLAST! Literally! We actually got to see them blast some of the rocks away! Our "tour guide," Ben, said that was over 40,000 tons of rocks! That's over 80 million pounds! WOW! We were absolutely safe though. No worries.
Then it was FOSSIL HUNTING time! YAHOO! We had SO MUCH fun! They also gave us a FREE treat and drink to enjoy later.  Thank you, LaFarge!
After hunting for fossils for a while, we worked up an appetite. So we went to McDonalds for lunch. They also let make our own sundaes for FREE! Thank you, McDonalds!
Next, we went to the Paulding Park to burn off some energy.
When we returned to school, we ate our treat and drank our juice that we had gotten from LaFarge. Finally, we laid out all of our fossils (especially the trilobites) that we had found to show our classmates. It was an AMAZING field trip!
