"Roll and Write" a Halloween Story:)

This week, we started our Halloween story for our creative writing unit.  However, we did not get to pick some of the story elements...we had to "roll" them.  The green die told us our setting (where)--the time is automatically on Halloween night.  The pink die told us our antagonist ("bad guy").  The purple die told us our problem/conflict.  And, finally, the blue die told us our starter/hook.

Then we worked in groups of three and completed the following brainstorming sheet.

This week, we will be going through the entire Writing Process (prewrite, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing) in order to have our stories the best they can possibly be so that you can read them during Parent-Teacher conferences next week.  We hope you like them...and that they don't scare you too much!  ;)
