Last week, we did a gummy bear experiment. We wanted to see what would happen if we soaked a gummy bear overnight in water, baking soda water, salt water, and vinegar. Each group came up with a hypothesis for each liquid. Then, they recorded their initial observations about the gummy bears like what did it feel like and what color it was on a piece of paper. Next, they measured the gummy bear's length (head to toe), width (across its back), and thickness/depth (from front to back) to the nearest centimeter. After that, they measured the gummy bear's mass on a scale. They recorded all of the data on a piece of paper. Finally, they placed one gummy bear in each liquid and waited overnight.
The next day, the students followed the same procedures for making observations, measuring, and recording data. Below are the before and after pictures.
