Biome GO! Opinion Writing Project

In Science, we have been learning about various animal adaptations in different biomes/habitats.  So, Mrs. Pfeiffer 'hid' pictures of animals everywhere in her room, and we got to 'catch' as many as we could like "Pokemon GO!"

After catching the animal, we used our notes to learn more about its special adaptation of survival in its biome.  

Then, we got into small groups and/or pairs to brainstorm what kinds of super powers we could give the animals so that they could better survive their environments.  Next, each of us decided which animal and super power we wanted to focus on to write our opinion essay.  Then, we typed and revised our essays on our own.  After that, we "peer-edited" with a buddy.  Once we were finished with "peer-editing," we were able to revise our essays again by either approving or rejecting each one of our buddy's suggestions before having Mrs. Pfeiffer edit as well.  Finally, we revised our essays once more, printed them off, and drew/illustrated our 'special' animal demonstrating its 'special' power in its environment.  Below are pictures of our finished projects.  We hope you like them.  :)
